saving a scan as pdf

pdf is not listed as an option under scan menu (right right before hitting scan button), only jpg bmp, tif, and png are options. Is there a way to save scan as pdf?

Also, I can't save as pdf later after saving as jpg during scan, correct?

What scanner or printer do you have? It kind of depends on model and brand. As per others you can convert it afterwards although you lose the searchable text ability

Lots of programs have the ability to scan from a TWAIN source (scanners usually are registered as TWAIN devices but I'm sure there are exceptions). This is a way for programs to scan images directly without the need to use whatever software came with your scanner.

For instance, I just opened Irfanview and was able to access my scanner via the "Acquire/Batch scanning..." option in the File menu. I was given the option to select my TWAIN source where I selected my Brother scanner, I then scanned in a document and then did a Save As... as a PDF document.

I

Thanks, I downloaded that and got it to scan but as pdf but it is only scanning top left corner of page?
Scanning profile is probably wrong, might be set for a 5x7" picture or something. I haven't personally used it in a while so can't give exact instructions but see if you can change the size/type of the scan. Usually there's a default for document scanning of regular 8.5x11" paper.

I went into profile settings and it was already on 8.5 x 11, not sure what to try next, would love for this to work as it would be the easiest but if not...what is the easiest way to convert to pdf after scanning in jpg?
