(SOLVED) Will I be able to control these fans?

New build (yay!), but there was a little hiccup. My Fractal design case has two 3 pin fans in the front, while my mobo has a single 4 pim connector. I am going to get a splitter so I can run both fans off of that one header, but I want to be sure that I will be able to control their speed. My understanding is that since they are 3 pin they can be controlled via voltage, but I’m not positive if my mobo will support such.

I'm not sure if running a splitter from the motherboard header is a good idea to begin with. I've never done it, but I'd be weary of what the header can push. Have you ever done this before?

Should be just fine, but you shouldn't use more than two fans per 3-pin generally.
A 3-pin fan header is 12V and usually around 1A (±0.2A), but this specific motherboard has a 2A since it's a combo for a waterpump, and the biggest Fractal fans including RGB will use 0.4A.
As for controlling the speeds, it's usually just a setting of Silent, Normal and Performance and then hoping the board is doing a fine job.

I did some more research and this is actually fine to do. Case fans use 0.2 - 0.3 amps so you can use several on a 1 amp header. My board's header turns out to be 2 amps, so yeah plenty.

Update : My motherboard allows control of these fans through a special DC control mode. I just set the fan settings the same way you would with PWM, but of course its somewhat less accurate. Still I can have them off, silent, medium, full etc, so all good :)
