kindle battery

I know this may sound a stupid question but here goes.....my mums kindle(which she has had a number of years) the battery has run down and I am trying to recharge it,but could I get anothder battery for it or is it not possible.....

You won't be able to do it yourself. It will have to be sent in to replace the battery. If its quite a few years old, you might as well buy a new one.

It depends on your comfort level working inside those devices. It's not 'user replaceable' but that doesn't mean you can't do it. Check a video of it first to make sure it's not overwhelming. Any cell phone repair shop should have the tools to do it for you. They will likely have to order the battery though, so it's unlikely to be a 1 day thing.

As a guy that used to work those repair shops and replaced a few batteries/screens. Just replace the whole thing. Any tablet that was under $100 I'd just advise people to buy a new one. It will never be the same after its opened and Kindle's are frankly too cheap to even be worth the effort.
