Hidden space?

My main drive is an M.2 256gb drive. It says its almost full with 10gb free, but when I go through all the folders and add up the space they take it only adds up to 120gb. Is there hidden files that are taking up the rest of the space?

Check your system restore settings and make sure its set low to less then say 10 percent. There will always be hidden files on the main OS drive. There is also a possibility that you just need to do a disk cleanup especially if you actually upgraded from an old OS.

Hmm, the option to adjust restore settings seems to no longer be a thing. I also did the disk cleanup and I still seem to be missing 100gb for some reason.

Go to that program folder and select show hidden files/folders and i'm sure you'll see a few folders appear.

Hmm, I found the folder that is taking up all the space, I can't open it and when I try to delete it it says I need permission from trusted installer. It's the windows app folder in the programs folder.

When I click on properties it says it's not using any space but when I try to delete it it gets to about 15% before it gives me that message.

Holy shit I'm retarded, I thought I deleted Final Fantasy from the xbox app but I didn't. I uninstalled it, problem solved. The only weird thing is I have all Xbox apps set to install to my G drive.

I wouldn't be deleting anything that it hidden, as its hidden for a reason. If you try deleting hidden files then its very possible that games or your system may not work correctly anymore. If you are running out of space, you just need a bigger drive.
