Hi all, looking any tips from users experienced with m.2 nvme setup

Just installed a new Crucial p2, but as it`s my first m.2 install it seemed a bit trickier than 2.5 ssd

firstly i had to remove graphics card and then the rog strix plate covering slot 1 which i believe is faster than slot 2, but Crucial did not include a securing screw and none of the screws i have are that small, does anyone know the correct size screw to secure m.2 drives ?

Second there is a setting in the Asus bios for, ami native nvme driver support, does the setting need to be enabled ?

Also any other tips on nvme bios settings etc would be much appreciated

There should have been a screw with your motherboard. If you still have the bag of stuff with it, I'd check that.

I've been using nvme for a few years, although it's basically just been plug and chug from a settings perspective.

If you've lost it you can buy collections of them to mount an nvme even if your board is missing the standoff for it

ie. https://www.amazon.ca/SGTKJSJS-M-2-Screw-NVMe-Mounting/dp/B07Q3DLCJ4
If you just need the screw you can find them as well. Usually in excessively large quanties

I checked both motherboard and m.2 packaging there was no screw supplied near small enough, tried leaving it unscrewed and just the strix cover plate holding it down while i wait on delivery of the correct screw, however kept getting drive error beeps at post, so have secured using 1 of the strix cover screws and attached the strix cover with 3 screws for the moment

I ordered the kit you linked to Cromewell, hopefully it will fit, from what i have read seems like different motherboards can take different size screws
