New build for beginner

Morning all - I am looking to build my first PC but this is all pretty new to me and confusing so I was looking for some help/input. Based on some initial research and evaluating what I actually need, I've come up with the following but am still looking for a few suggestions. This will primarily be used for a home office and some light gaming. I realize it may be a bit more than I need but wanted to make it future proof for at least a year or two. Budget is around $1000

Biggest concern is if all the parts are compatible. I am also looking for suggestions on what I should use for storage. I don't need a ton, but do need it to be fast. 1 TB would be more than enough but I've been interested in the M.2 and SSD setup for a quick boot time.

And lastly, could anyone steer me in a direction for a decent GPU? Don't need anything crazy but would like to have the option to play some games occasionally.

Thanks in advance for any input!

Definitely get a NVME drive for booting. Don't get the standard m.2 as they are as fast as the sata ssd counterparts.

for light gaming a gtx 1050ti will do you proud
im sure someone can recommend a cheaper alternative
im in the uk so the 1050ti is about £140 so in the us im guessing $200 around that mark

1050Ti is getting left behind in contrast to modern cards. They were a pretty good ~$150-200 play when they came out over 4 years ago, but they're starting to show their age.

There's been some sales for 5500XT cards around that price point lately, or even a Radeon 580 while being similarly old is significantly faster.

Thanks for the response. Do you have a recommendation? I'm assuming I don't need a lot of storage for that so was just looking at something like this: https://www.newegg.com/western-digi...820250133?Item=N82E16820250133&quicklink=true
If you like WD then get the black NVME drive.

As far as storage you could just roll with a mechanical drive like a 1tb WD Blue,

Awesome - yeah that could save some me some money with the mechanical drive. Appreciate the help everyone.
I plan finalizing everything in the next week and will reply here

Hey guys - appreciate all the input. I just updated my list after taking suggestions and input. Total is about $1200 for everything, and that includes monitor and OS. Is everything compatible here? Just making sure I'm not missing anything before I purchase.

Also, open to any other suggestions to any parts if there's better/more affordable options out there.

Appreciate the help!

That looks pretty good, what are your thoughts about a single larger NVME drive like 1 TB SN750 and ditching the sata?

Yep I meant to fix that - that is exactly what I am going to do.

Also upgraded the PSU to the CORSAIR TX-M Series TX650M CP-9020132-NA 650W ATX12V v2.4 / EPS 2.92 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Semi-Modular Active PFC Power Supply.

After additional research on the motherboard, I think the one I selected is a bit overkill, so was looking at this:

Thoughts on that?
Thanks again
