Unusual dual monitor display/Video situation -

UPDATE:
I still am not sure about my situation.... I "solved" the monitor issue but, keep getting the BSOD and, it appears when there is a movement (sometimes) of the video display/graphic movement.

I am hesitant to re-install the OS but, I will if all else fails....I found a program that deals with the BSOD and earlier, was able to copy the "code" displayed.....Attached is a picture of what the program indicated. Can anyone make out what the program is telling me?.....I see the same error coming up in the program.

Looks like a driver issue. You would have to send me some of those dmp files zipped up for me to run them through a program that could tell me what the problem actually is.

So access this directory and send a few of the latest ones.

c:\windows\minidump

See this directory circled in red in the following image?

minidump.jpg

You will need to go to that directory and zip up a few of the dump files. Usually you can't zip them from the minidump folder. You can always copy a few files to a folder on the desktop that you create and then right click on the folder and click on send to compressed folder. Then attach the compressed folder to your next reply. In the minidump folder you will see files with start with mini and will have the date the bluescreen occurred followed by some numbers depending on how many times that day it bluescreened.

**That is what I just posted.

**I think I just did that.

Nope, you didn't do any of that.

I didn't ask you to open the file.

Use Windows Explorer to navigate to the minidump directory, copy a few of the files in that folder to a folder you create on your desktop. Then right click on that folder and click on send to compressed folder. Then attach that folder to your next reply. It's not that hard. If you want to install teamviewer, I can remote in to your pc and do it for you but i wouldn't be able to do it until later today. Getting ready to leave for the day in a bit.

Agreed - I was wondering if there was more to it.

Use Windows Explorer to navigate to the minidump directory,
I did get to the directory

copy a few of the files in that folder to a folder you create on your desktop.
I created a folder, copied and pasted a few files into it.

Then right click on that folder and click on send to compressed folder.
I WinZipp'ed the files

Then attach that folder to your next reply.
I already posted it 2-3 replies ago - is it not there?

It's not that hard.
But, I did find the folder, copied the most recent files from that folder into another I created, then, zipped those files and posted as an attachment.

If you want to install teamviewer, I can remote in to your pc and do it for you but i wouldn't be able to do it until later today. Getting ready to leave for the day in a bit.
see above

**I also will check back to this today and, THANKS FOR THE REPLIES.

Repair installs hardly ever worked
If you really want to stay on XP, I would look into trying a different video card. That 5200 may be starting to die. Does the system have onboard video? You could try that. I wouldn't reinstall windows until you try a different video card.

UPDATE----

What I recently did is remove the "dual video card" and put in the card that came with computer which provides only 1 monitor use, not dual. The results were the same (re:BSOD) and still getting BSOD issues but, not as often it seems

Additional reading seems to now indicate a possible ram issue....I have 2 gb's ram (4x500) yet, only showing 1500gb's ram. I saw something in my computer (can't find the #&^&*$% thing!) that shows what each slot has, etc but, can't located it...Maybe it was a program I tried and uninstalled a long time ago.

Is there a program that will "stress" the ram and that I could download?

Man some brand new hardware would really go a long way here.

Memtest works well enough.

I was hoping that people would get off of and drop the update, upgrade, etc responses but, seems it is an addiction....

I was mistaken.

At any rate, that was the program I could not remember.

Thanks for the reply.

If you have 4 sticks installed and its only reading 3 then you have a bad slot or a bad stick. Try removing and then reinserting all sticks to see if the correct amount shows. If not, remove 1 stick at a time until it reads correctly.

That is my next step after doing "mem-test.

What's the point in doing Memtest if you're not even detecting the stick? Is it being shown in BIOS?

What integrated video are you using? A lot of those will share system ram and dedicate a certain chunk of it like 512mb to itself.
