CD-R Help Needed

I have a couple of questions please!

1. It a CD says on it CD-R read write then does this mean once it is burned then nothing can be added, edited or delted?

2. It a CD-R requests to be named when put in the drive does this mean is is blank?

3. Can you only name a CD-R before burning or will it give an option at the end?

Correct.

2. It a CD-R requests to be named when put in the drive does this mean is is blank?
I would think so, since nothing can be written to it once its finalized.
3. Can you only name a CD-R before burning or will it give an option at the end?
I believe windows asks you to name it right off the bat. Software may ask you at any time before finalizing.

Correct.

Many thanks. One more thing, sorry. Does Windows finalise a CD automatically at the end of the burn or does something else need to be done?

I haven't actually used windows to burn cds in a very long time. If I remember correctly it asks if you want to finalize it after burning or leave it open to continue writing data to it. Some players may not be able to see the data until after its finalized. What type of data are you burning to it?

I’m burning audio tracks but the CD drive just opened after burning. The tracks all seem to be on there so I assume it has just finalised itself.

I was worried that I may have overwritten some files that were on there but if a CD-R cannot be edited then I can only assume the CD-R I have just used was blank....
