PC will not turn on!

My PC was running fine until I left it for couple month without use..

I went to turn it on yesterday and it will not turn on.

I changed power supply and it was the same.

I tried another power supply and this time only plug in the mobo power cable and the cpu fan turn on

I than plug in the CPU and mobo power cable and nothing. It will not turn on.

Finally I wiggled the cpu cooler with force and now the pc turns on.

Last night, it will not turn on again and i flipped the on off switch on the psu and it worked again.

can someone please help me diagnose what is happening?

anything todo with the pressure applied to the cpu by the cooler or is my mobo simply going bad?

please help

Is this a custom built pc built by you? This could be as simple as the motherboard shorting out against the case. My thought is that if by simply moving the cpu cooler then it moved something. What I would do in this case is remove the motherboard from the case and set it on top of a piece of cardboard and see if the system reacts like it should. If so then there is a standoff on the case where it shouldn't be and its causing it short out.
 
Yes, its a pc build by me.

Also. This pc was in my car when I totaled it in my car but at the time the pc still works afterward.

I will check for stand offs.

any other ideas, anyone?

My advice then would be to take it apart and rebuild it. So many things can happen in an accident. I might even suggest getting a new case.

While it was still mounted? Was/is it able to move without loosening it? That could be an issue in of itself. What cooler is it?

It is hard to say but a short/contact somewhere sounds somewhat likely. Since the machine was in your car when it was in an accident, I would think it likely that the impact probably broke something.
