I'm getting rid of an old PC so I zeroed out all the Hard Drives and did a clean install for Windows 7 and installed the drivers for the NIC. I don't remember how to get the NIC to work so I can upgrade it to Windows 10 and I don't remember how to get the sound to work?

Windows 10 should have all tbe drivers for windows 7 hardware however there may be some it can't install because of compatibility.

So you currently don't have the ethernet driver installed? Go into device manager and it will either be an unknown device entry or network adapter entry. Right click on it, click on properties, click on details tab, change property to hardware id and then give me the 4 digit vendor and device ID Numbers. They will look like this. Will then tell you what driver you need to download and install.

I don't have Windows 10 DVD but if I can get on the Internet I can upgrade to Windows 10 for free? I have a computer that's on the Internet and can download and transfer the Windows 10 image but I don't know how?

If you are worried about licensing, then as long as the machine had Windows 10 before, then it should reactivate the license when you do a clean Windows 10 install.
