i copyed a cd on to media player and i wasnt connected to the internet so i put the info i needed in, just the artists name and then the album name, im now back online and i want to put it back in my library but when i put in the cd it comes up with the old information and what i want is the actual information that i would get if i had been connected to the internet before hand,

any ideas? thanks!!!

yup, ok, when you are playing them in media player right click on one of the tracks and select Find Album information. Let media player do the seraching for you, it SHOLD find the CD, and then its up to you to accept the information it gives you.

ive done that but it wont let me find the information, its a legit cd so it should work but it just isnt, anymore ideas? thanks dragon :)

this is unconfirmed and i havent tried it but if you go to C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Media Index..... there should be one file called wmplibrary_v_0_12.db or somethign along those lines..... Delete it, im grabbing at straws here, but i know that file contains all the media info thats in your library, if you delete it and start media palyer it SHOULD go into "Oh this is the first time youve used media player, let me go and get all your track info again" bit, likeit does when you first run it.

Try it, in theory it should work like a dream, but i havent tried it.

how cant you find the file, its present on all PC's that have media player installed and used at least once, lol, its int he directory that i posted, saying that the folder Application Data is hidden, so you have to go into Folder Otpions and click the radio button that says show hidden files and folders
