According to Nvidia, a node can achieve up to 64x full scene anti-aliasing (FSAA), deliver a performance of up to 148 megapixels on 16 synchronized digital-output channels and eight HD SDI channels. The firm says that the fill rate reaches 80 billion pixels/s while the geometry performance is rated at seven billion vertices/

They use quadro's at my dads work but certainly none as beefy as that! How can they call that a graphics card, it's huuuge!

I don't understand why nVidia thinks this thing is marketable. It's rediculous to spend that much money on a card, even if you're the most hardcore gamer out there. Plus, these kinds of cards aren't generally built for gaming, they're more for autocad/3D modeling. If you want to spend $18,000 on video cards, then just buy a $900 top-of-the-line card every year for 20 years, and you won't have to ever worry about not playing games at the highest res with the most detail :)

Great thinking :)

I bet Ku-sama will get two :D
Only two?

There designed for workstations. Large movie production studios or 3D Animation studios may find a use for it.

half of these itesm are really just a marketing ploy, bit like the Bugatti Veyron. Theres no real need for it, and hardly anyone will own one. But at least they can say they did it

Take a look on nvidia's website... its just two quadro cards in SLi and a video processing cards inclosed for a rackmount... it's not anything special, especialy because I bet you can buy the components seperatly for less money. Besides it wouldn't be that great at gaming, which the article seems to direct the card to...

It would own at gaming, although for the price, it wouldn't be worth it.

It uses two quadro FX 4/5500. Thats basicly the same as two 7900GTX in SLi, only the cards aren't designed for gaming.

True but is still a crap load of raw processing power. While they may not be designed for gaming, I am sure they would not have a problem.

True, I'm just saying that for 18,000 there are better gaming cards. On the other hand if your in graphics design...

18K is way more than it is really worth. The hardware probably is not an overkill because they might be some companies that could use this amount of power. But the price is way too expensive.

that thing is a graphics card? i would've never knew, i thought it was a miny pc, til i looked at it, and say "Nvidia" lol.

Probably looking at companies that run big simulations could use such a thing, would imagine it would be extremely useful for flight training simulators or for Nasa space simulations
