Oc

what would you guys say if i ask if i could OC my graphics card? lol, would it be any better than it is now?..

I think you could get some smoother gameplay out of it, but nothing extreme. I OC my card and I get a nice improvement, but its only so much.

Are you talking about your FX5200? You won't notice hardly any difference in OCing an older card and playing newer games. You may get 1-5 fps difference, which isn't worth it, IMO.

I OC with MOHAA and it increases in quality by a nice amount. So for older games it would be a good idea for you.

ok, the GPU clock is 250MHZ, and the RAMDAC is 350MHZ, dont know what RAMDAC is lol. what you think i can OC 2?

Ok, first thing is I'm not quite an expert, but I have read tutorials and such on this. As they always say, nobody can tell you exactly how much to OC, but I think I can give you some suggestions.
A general idea is that you shouldn't go above 33% of your core clock.
The RAMDAC is simply your video card's ram which is built into the card, thats the 128mb it says in the title. This can usually be increased more than the clock and it is very effective in speeding things up.

Now, seeing that you have an Nvidia card, I suggest you get something called Coolbits (if you don't already have it or something else). This is a modification to the Nvidia control panel which adds a setting for GPU clock and memory speeds. Once it is loaded, you will have a very simple interface for OC'ing which consists of two bars.

The process of overclocking is a series of increases and tests. You move the bars up and test your results. Generally, after you have your card set to a speed you like, run a graphically intense game for about 5 minutes and check for performance and any errors in the picture (artifacts or such). Try to raise the bars in about 10mhz increments for every test. Once you have problems, lower the bars about 10-15mhz and you should have established your best safe overclock speed :).

I'll give you my best numbers a little later.

RAMDAC is short for Random Access Memory Digital-to-Analog Converter, actually. Basically it handles the color palette, resolutions and sending an analog signal to monitors by creating voltage amplitudes from digital data or sending it as a digital signal via DVI or HDMI cables, depending on if you have a CRT or LCD monitor. So you shouldn't go changing any RAMDAC settings if you do happen to find 'em, only the core and RAM clocks.

Thanks for letting me know :) I confused that with the actual RAM I guess. Well, now I know.

is there just a regular Application download? that downloads of them files that you need Adobe 2 read...

and my Adobe said it cant read it or something...

ok, thanks...

lol, i used 2 go on that site, that site sucks...
