looking for a cheap laptop to play half life 2

I need a computer for colleg but i enjoy playing half life 2 i was looking for a computer that was cheap and would be able to play half life 2 on the medium to low end mode tia
 
how cheap is cheap? My dad got a brand new acer laptop for 900 bucks with 2 gigs of ram, core duo 1.66ghz and a x1400mobility graphics card.

I know the exact one you are talking about how ever it seemed to get bad reviews. Or would you recomned it becuse to me it seemed like a good deal

your better off getting a crappy laptop, and spend the extra money on a desktop, you can get a thinkpad w/ the "advanced docking station" that has an AGP slot on it (but it has to be the half sized cards that are only like 3" wide or it won't fit) but i don't know how good that is.
 
True, playing FPS on a laptop is pretty annoying. Ecspecially when using the touchpad as the mouse instead of a USB one.

I would go to Dell and see if you could get a deal on a nice laptop with a Core Duo processor, 1-2GB of RAM, and a decent GPU.

It's half decent if you don't have the money to get a better one. The laptop heats up a little so dont use it on you lap :D Other than that, the screen is beautiful, though it's 16ms response time.
