i have been a console gamer pretty much my whole life but soon i will have pretty nice gaming computer that can play all the latest games

is jumping from console to PC that big of a change for an experience gamer or is it one of those where it'll take a couple of hours to get used to the controls and then be fine and fluent

Even if you don't get used to the keyboard and mouse you can always plug in one of those gamepad things or a joystick or whatever. The biggest difference in my opinion is with first person shooters. It is A LOT easier to aim with the mouse rather than an analog stick. I also feel that driving games are harder to play on the PC but the only driving game i actually play is Burnout: Revenge on the PS2 so thats not a problem for me. What kind of games do you play?

It'll probably take you a while to really get used to the WSAD movement keys and feel natural to use a keyboard and a mouse since you've used a gamepad.

Amen. It's a more quicker reaction with the mouse.

I play racing and sports games with a gamepad and all my other games with the keyboard/mouse. But I haven't really noticed a big difference in experience.

I think some games just work better on certain systems. I guess if you get a really nice joystick, it could be fine on any...but I still can't stand some things. Like FPS's on consoles that require you to use both sticks... UGH, I hate those!

Yeah, and then they make the action button one of the face buttons so that you have to take your thumb off the stick to press it! In a word: clunky.
