Well, i have this sytem atm ( see sig)
however, in SLI, the pci-e ports only run at 8x, now, i heard there are motherboards with 2 16x pci-e slots, would it be worth getting such a motherboard? ( and perhaps a new CPU, if the mobo would be A2M)

but,.. would going from 8x to 16x with 2 7800GTX's make much of a difference?

I dont think going frm 8x to 16x would make much of a difference cause PCIE doesnt use the full bandwith of the 16x. and if you already have a socket 939 system it isnt worth the upgrade cause there really isnt that much performance difference between 939 and am2 and if you buy am2 your going to have to buy new ram.

It might not be using the full bandwith of 16x,.. but it might use more than than the 8x bandwith, couldnt it?
anyway, im thinking of buying a 4800+ X2 s939, but are there any 939 mobo's with 2 16x pci-e slots? if not, well, then i think ill stick to this mobo.
but, i think going from a overcloced 3000+ to a 4800+ X2 would make a big difference, wouldnt it?

True, but the performance benefits aren't enormous. Take a look at http://www.tbreak.com/reviews/article.php?id=436
