when I turn om y computer it say CPU=1.1GHz when I know its 2.2GHz

I don't understan when I have my computer start up it says my CPU is 1.1Ghz and I know it is 2.2GHz. What could be wrong?

click start>right click my computer, and see what it's running at, if you just put a new cpu in there, you may gotten the wrong fsb, and it's thinking it's the older cpu, thats what my guess is...

I can't even get to my desktop due to the need of a new OS. but on start up that's what it says is 1.1GHz. Seems kind of odd that it would have exactly half of what it is.

The FSB isn't correct. it says 200 MHz and I know it should be 400MHz. How do I fix that?
(this is my 100th post! YAY)

You guys gave me an idea. I when into POWER BIOS and changed the frequency from 100 MHZ=1.1GHz (half of what it should be) and dubbeld it to 200MHz=2.2GHz (what it should be).
Then I went into Advanced chipset features and changed the FSB from 166MHz to 200Mhz (200 MHz is 400Mhz in DDR)

THANKS FOR THE IDEA!!!

you need the right fsb 4 the cpu 2 run at the cpu's speed, if you got a 33mhz fsb cpu, and not a 400mhz fsb cpu, the 333mhz fsb cpu will run at the old cpu's speed...

I have it set on BIOS for 400MHz Because me GPU runs at 400MHz. But my RAM runs at 333Mhz. But the FSB is always 400Mhz. Just the RAM may slow down the true potential.

My CPU IS 400Mhz FSB. My RAM is 333MHz.

GPU? what does that have to do with anything?

Its kind of hard to read chat line style talk. And you said "if you got a 33mhz fsb" when I sayed I had 400Mhz! thats 367MHz off!!! You guys are confusing me. I know my FSB is 400MHz (its what is sayed on the CPU package) and my RAM is PC2700 that goes at 333MHz (not 33MHZ) and I just compared it to me GPU that runs at 400Mhz to show the difference in utalizing the speed.

FSB=400MHz
^
GPU=400MHz RAM=333Mhz

Im pretty sure your GPU doesnt really have anything to do with the rest of that... and unless you want to OC your RAM, i would keep your FSB the same, so that your RAM and FSB are in sync.

How About this for a question. Where can I get the best price for 1GB single stick of PC3200 RAM?
