Is there much that i need to know about LCD's or are they basicaly the same? Im looking into a 17 or 19 inch monitor.
WHat do i need to know about them?
What brand is repitable?

I just got tired of carring around my huge CRT and wanted somthing easyer to get around at the lans.

I'm not a big fan of brand names, I have a Tyris monitor (only produces 2 different ones), and it looks and works absolutely amazing!

Basically, if you're into gaming or movie watching, you should get a monitor that has 12ms or less response time (the lower the better). Also look for one with a decent contrast ratio (500:1 and up is good), and a high brightness (270 mc/d2 or higher is usually pretty good).

Post back with a few monitors you're considering, and i'll look them over and help you decide.

Of the ones you've found, I'd personally go with the LG L1952TX . I notice you've only posted one widescreen TFT, the Rosewill R905E-W. You ought to decide whether you want a widescreen one or not, just to narrow it down. Bear in mind that $ for $, the LG provides much better value for money. And although movies will look great on a widescreen, games may not.
