This has probably already been done a million times but i was wondering how many of you have used or are currently using Linux.
 
Yuep. I am using puppy linux on my SD card so wherever i go, i can have my favorite OS with me and all my files :)
 
wow i didn't know so many people used it, i recently have been testing out ubuntu on one of my older computers. I never got into multi booting much.
 
Indeed... I have used Debian, Ubuntu, Red Hat, Slackware, Gentoo and Knoppix... favourite one of the ones I have used would have to be Gentoo because of the pure knowledge you learn about the base system when command line installing it. Also use Windows (at college etc).
 
Dual boot Ubuntu and XP at home...would rather use Linux whenever possible (which is almost always ;) ). Have also used (installed) Gentoo and Kubuntu, but love livecd's of Knoppix, SAM and Slax (plus the random new distro every once in a while).
 
Redhat linux on the older computer :) I love it, it comes with office software, firewall and all that stuff. It is so much better than windows (except for the fact that it can't run any windows software). Still, I'm a Windows fan.
 
I'm quadruple booting Windows XP, Vista (with IIS and VMware Server- i must be insane), SUSE, and Kubuntu (ewwww...) and Knoppix 3.8.2, 3.9, 4.0.2, and 5.0.1 (I have cds of all of them)
And in VMware, I have installed/used Freespire/Linspire, Debian, Fedora Core 2, 3, 4, and 5, Ubuntu (*cough**awful**cough*), PCLinuxOS, Mandrake, Xandros 2.5 and 3, Puppy Linux, FreeBSD, and a few more I can't remember... it's kinda sad...
I never delete any ISOs, either... I should be a mirror...

Yes it can, it might not be the most stable of things to do on a Linux distro as the whole idea of using Linux is to get away from Windows and learn new operating systems and features but you can install Wine/WineX (I can't recall which one it is as I never have and never will use it myself) to emulate Windows in a way that you can use Windows applications / Games (actually I'm not entirely sure if you can use Windows applications, I've only read about it being used for games, can someone shed some light on this?).

Hey, timothyb89, what don't you like about Ubuntu? What do you like about your favorite distros? You seem to have kde lean...
 
I have SuSe 9.2 Professional on CD's, I'd install it again if I had a third HDD. Or if I got a new socket A mobo so that I could use my old computer with SuSe.
