opinions on this PC

I would give it an 8. That is because it isn't dual core and the graphics isn't really that great because it has intergrated graphics which isn't really that good for gaming. But for the price I would say it is worth it.

Since that will not be used primarily as a gaming system you are seeing a good price for a Pavillion there. With the 80gb drive and dvd burner included the single 512mb is the only thing besides cpu you may want to boost a little. With those changes you would probably get a 9 1/4.

well since its thru best buy i dont think i can upgrade the ram at least until i have the computer, much less the processor.
on a side note, what are your professional opinions on how well this would run games like Jedi Outcast, Jedi Academy, or Knights of the Old Republic 1 & 2?

That will depend mainly on how long during the day or night and how often you intend to game with it. Laptops have a tendency to be a little when you buy out of retail store. There are some sites that will customize a laptop for you at the higher price there depending the hardwares selected. With 512mb of ram and the onboard video you will most likely have to lower settings in the games if you see any problems come up.

That's is one drawback with portables over desktops unfortunately. Although most games will run easily with 512mb you wouldn't be able to crank things up like you would a regular gaming machine or customized laptop with an added video card rather then using the onboard. Other then giving it a slight boost for gaming it still looks like a good model.

Unfortunately, good deals never last. It's sold out. :/

(this is my 100th post, yay)

When looking at sale items you always have to "move fast"! to get a good deal otherwise they disappear fast! !!! Unfortunately you will have to search around to see if any of the stores themselves have one left.
