computer problems

does anyone know what non system or system disk error means and how to fix it? Basically when i start up the computer it will load for a second and then that will pop up...

ok...i noticed when attmpting to boot up it says no boot file found or soemthign like that...so im beginning to think that there is no OS
 
That would be my guess is there is no OS on the computer. I have seen several of these problems happen on computers where the hdd dies or they have no OS on them at all.

I had a simmilar problem, it is either no OS or the IDE cable that leads to your HDD is faulty.
 
Is it me or do plenty of people, over the space of the last few days, seem to be having boot failures? Ironic or what :). If the OS is installing from the Windows CD I'd suggest that the hardware is fine.
