hijacking wireless broadband

well i have heard a few people talkin about this...
i have a wirless router and im a bit unsure of how people do this i am just looking for information on how they do it and how easy it is to try stop these theiving to$$a's?

i have a wireless router on aol pulling some good speed and i am worried people are gonna nick it

Do you have Wep or WPA protection on your wireless broadcast? If you don't you are probably already sharing the connection...
