Hi!

I cant choose which laptop to buy from these:

Sony Vaio FE28B
Lenovo IBM N100 Core Duo 2GHz, 1GB RAM, 100GB HDD, DVDRW, XPPro
Lenovo IBM N100 Core Duo, 1GB RAM, 100 HDD, DVDRW, XPPRO

Any help and advice is appreciated :)

I think the best choice is the Lenovo IBM N100 Core Duo 2GHz 1GB 100GB DVDRW XPPro

Thanks

Although the Sony lacks the speed of having the 2ghz cpu many will point to that as the one there. All three have 1gb of ram installed and a 100gb hard drive. If you are on a tight budget the Sony there. (just don't use the battery)

I would say what you said r.mistry6 which is the Lenovo IBM N100 Core Duo 2GHz 1GB 100GB DVDRW XPPro.

But it depends what you will be using it for.

The battery on the Sony portables has the nearly 4hr. use while the Lenovo battery is for the 2hr. approximate there. If you are simply gping to run it with a docking station or ac adapter that won't matter. The one thing that could save you some problems lately by going with the Lenovo Core Duo 2ghz model is the some 1 million battery recall going on at the moment. You won't have to worry about pulling your hair out when a battery smokes up a storm! :P (nasty pun! i know i know)

If you go with the Sony hopefully you won't run into any bad batteries. Lately they started their own 1 million battery recall. Apparently their's and Dell's supplier has been putting out some bad batches there. :(

Homework suggests after classes while at home for use there. The longer life with the Sony model would be considered if you going to be in a study hall or library where battery life would then be critical. Have you looked at any other brands besides the Sony and Lenovo models?
