My system consist of a asus p4s55fx motherboard with a 1.6ghz cpu, 1gb ram, maxtor 40gb harddrive, windows xp. It's been working good for 3-4 years now but all of a sudden it's been crashing lately. I'll be on the computer then everything freezes up. When i turn it off then back on it's just a blank screen and it beeps a ryhthm. What i do to get it to back to normal is take out the battery on the motherboard for 2minutes then put it back in then it's back to normal. But it still freezes. What can do i check for and what do you guys think is happening?

K let me go check right now, i'll repost when done. EDIT: Now i can't even turn on the computer, nothing but the blank screen i was tlaking about. here is the beeping sequence i encountered.
