OK, by this I want to find out how many people use SLI. And feel free to tell me whether its worth even do SLI. Dont say you reccomend it if you dont use it yourself. Insted tell me what you gaming experience is like now. Those who do use SLI please compare it openly (tell us) how much better your doing than the people who dont use SLI.

sorry about not being able to chose 2 options. choosing need SLI will count as "use SLI" also. Just not on the Polls.

Most games can be run without SLI, and buying two cards can be very expeisive. It takes up more power, creates more heat, and usally isn't even as good as some higher end cards. Now if someone wants the best of the best, SLI is the way to go if you plan to get top of the line cards or quad SLI.

Now what if you Buy a MOBO and get one card now and another later on in life? It would make sence right?

It doesn't give you that much of an improvement. Would it be better? Yes. Would I do it? No.

Well said that man.

I have a SLI mobo, and im not even thinking of spending the money to go SLI, one 7800GTX does the buisness for me just fine.

I would never SLI or crossfire. Its a waste, instead of buying two cards, you can buy one really good card. If you already have a card, i would sell that and buy another card. SLI is never worth the money.

I have SLI and I might go SLI later one... I mean if I found a very cheap 7600GT and my current single card is lagging, it might be worth a shot. Plus, as stated above, just for the hell of it ;P I've never tried anything like that, so I might as well get some practice setting it up.

Well computers are really all I spend my money on. I love gaming and, well, just thought it would be good to have 2. Always thought 2 are better than one. So I shouldnt get a SLI MOBO?

I would get a SLI board, you can run 1 or 2, and later if you want to run SLI you wont have to say (Damn)

So if I dont get a SLI MOBO, what GPU should I get? is a GeForce 7600GT good as only one GPU? (I love FEAR)

I thougth the same thing... but by the time I would want to upgrade there's gonna a be a single card that outperforms 7800GT SLi... in fact, I think there might already be.

you can run all games on high without SLI... my 7800gt would and so does my 7900gtx... SLI is for anti-aliasing anyways, and if hdr is enabled you can't even have that. basically SLI just gets you a higher (more expensive) benchmark... lol
anyways its always a worse deal for the performance you get when you're talking about lower end cards... except for the 6600gt vs. 6800vanilla that nvidia fixed the prices right away anyways... because i think two 6600gt's were outperforming in doom 3 and cost less... lesson learned nvidia is charging more now and watching SLI benchmarks...

But seriously, are there ATI GPU's that are better than GeForce GPU's at a better price? I mean like in the same class.
