Why is my printer only printing Only part of he documents? All the coloured ink coming up but no black,The black is full of ink.

What model is your printer? It could be that the heads of the printer is dirty and needs a little cleaning. Depending on your model, there should be a method either on the printer itself or in it's settings (once it has been installed) for you to select and have it clean the printer heads and hopefully stop that from happening.

Hi thanks for reply. My printer is a epson c66.Its old but i works (well did do) I have cleaned the heads i dont know how many times.Whats the print head alignment?

The black ink is probably dried up. It happens all the time. It could be the contacts to the cartridge, but I doubt it. Make sure it is seated in there firmly and the contacts are clean, just in case.

Hi the other inks are low but the blacks almost full.

Actually, the printhead is probably clogged. That model of printer has the printhead built into the machine. Try running the clean printhead utility, or try to get an alcohol swab of some sort in there to clean it out a little. If you can't get it to start printing again (do some print align pages or something until it does), then just replace the machine. Replacing the cartridges will do you no good, unfortunately :(.

Related question: Did you store this printer for the summer, or possibly go for a few weeks without printing?

ok i had this same problem and it was so stupid how i fixed

i recently replaced the black ink cartridge but i forgot to take off the plastic sheet that covers the end where the color comes out

check to see if thats it

You shouldn't have to remove that, the printhead should pierce that covering on it's own... In fact if you take off that little piece of cellophane, then ink has a pretty good chance of spewing everywhere. Unless I'm thinking of something different...
