hey, im after some games that will give me some awsome game play and graphics on the X1900XT. what is the most damanding game out to date? will my comuter handle new games coming out like haze and crysis??

If an Asus A8N SLI with 2gb of Kingston Value Ram, an AMD64 3500+, a Creative Audigy 4 Pro, and Radeon X1300 Pro can handle just about any game out there you shouldn't have any problems running that case at stock settings. Gee? Let me pound some more zombie combines in HL2 Espisode One and I''ll get back to you. Meanwhile try out Oblivion.

Oblivion will own your FPS. (frame per seconds). You wont be happy with that game now. Wait until Dx10 Gpus comes out then Play Oblivion.

Pr0 you sure give some weird advice, why wouldnt he be happy with Oblivion? Hes got one of the best GPU's on the market.

I recommend you get Oblivion, it is an awesome game and its among the most demanding games atm. :)

As for Crysis, it will definitely play it but I cant say how good.

Gee? I wonder how that would run on the MSI Radeon X1300 Pro here? After running HL2 and EP1 for too long you know the story there. (aahh eeww snore... )

im sorry to disappoint but pro is right. at full settings 1400X1050 on my x1900xt way OCed is a little stuttery at times.

Yeah, but it's not like that current GPU won't be able to play Oblivion at an above average level. Oblivion will test that system for sure, but you can make the game pretty good looking as well as being a satisfactory FPS for playing.

Most games now run maxed at 1280x1024 for the most part. The problems you are seeing are probably due to the lack of support in the game. If a game has to connect to a server that can see lags when many players are on.

Pr0's advice is wrong. You will def be able to play Oblivion on that at max.

Pr0 never said you wont be able to run to the max. He just said you will get lower fps in that game. And from what i hear is human eyes can detect 69-70fps. And with Oblivion you wont reach there with max settings.

Well with a single core 3800+ I pretty there will be bottleneck in that game if your all maxed out with high resolutions. Atleast if you move around you wont get a smooth clear screen. If you want your videocard to run wild on your CPU then I would suggest getting a better CPU.

uh i can play oblivion maxed with my x1800xt on 1024 x 768 with no problems...im sure an x1900xt will play it maxed on 1280 x 960 with no problems

I slam HL2 and EP 1 along with some older games at 1280x1024 and see only small lags and the occasional lock or crash to desktop business there. But that is very the max screen for most games out and higher then older ones. Once you try pushing a game over that the problems seen then would be the lack of support from the game. If a newer game goes higher stay at one lower and run it at high quality.

i average about 25 - 30 @ those settings it skips slightly every few minutes but thats either my ram or my processor i haven't quite pinpointed that yet but im leaning towards my ram....point is tho the card can handle it just fine

i usually run games at 1024 x 768 it looks fine to me that way some i do run at 1280 x 960 but very few and windows i always run at 1024 x 768 because 1280 makes everything tiny and it hurts my eyes to try and make it out

Taking screen shots for some scenes in HL2 and other games is a little tricky at times due to the reduction in size. I always have to have the action piled right on top of you to get the best there. But since the MS model keyboard used here has a magnifying lever for bringing up text I prefer the higher res in order to fit all of the desktop shortcuts into single file rather then in cluttered groups.

Sure it plays it, but how high are the settings of oblivion on your PC? Definetly not maxed out ;)

so if you should i get a new cpu? mine is not a stock 3800+, it has been pro overclocked. say i had to get a x2 3800+, would it be a great difference from what i have now. how fast should i go to acheive maxed out oblivion?, would 4200+ do it?

Both HL2 and Episode One are always kept at the highest texture and image quality settings. The antiliasing is simply left at the default off or the low setting seen in Metal of Honor(blah for graphics and gore).
