How does this sound ?

No, you can't go Sli on that board. You need a different HDD that is SATA 3/GB SEC to go with that board and look for a better mobo. The one you have looks OK but not really great. Why spend 100 on a mobo and 360 on a CPU.

That motherboard is incompatible with the CPU you have to get one that is Core 2 Duo compatible. Why did you pick a IDE harddrive get a SATA II harddrive. I would downgrade the videocard to a 7900GT and upgrade to 2GB of high quality ram. And no you dont have the option of SLI on that board.

updated motherboard

btw..btw, is there much difference between 7900 GT and 7900 GTX ?

also, is it worth getting SLI ? will it enchance my system ?

Corsair ram is good but dont get the value select if your going to be overclocking. The differences between the 7900GT and GTX are the GTX has 512 MB of Vram and the GT has 256 MB of Vram and the GTX has higherclockspeeds and memory speeds but it isnt worth the price jump to get that.

some nice ram would be some CORSAIR XMS2 DDR2 800 PC2 6400 2X1GB C4 modules

basically this pair right here

or you could get the C5 pair and OC it to C4 timings

so, i would be set for good quality gaming if i downgraded to 7900gt?

also, what if i got 2 1024 corsair 800 mhz sticks?
would that be good ?

Yes both of those will be good for gaming you will not notice much of a difference going from a 7900GTX to a 7900GT and that ram should be alot faster and better then the ones you picked out earlier.

ok cool, so on a whole.
how does the new computer look?
will it run alright ?

Your new computer should be great. You should be able to run almost every game out there maxed with good framerates and it should overclock pretty good to and be good at multitasking. Should be a good overall good computer.
