Does intel plan to change LGA775 socket anytime soon (EE965 Q)

hi every1

im thinking about getting an intel EE 965, but will their 775 socket stay for their standard of chips for say..the next year or two?

cause i dont want to get a mobo and all this mobo compatible stuff, only to have to get a new mobo and things wen i wanna upgrade in like 1 yearish

or am i just asking for too much

and if i do get the chip, can anyone recommend good mobos and supplies (ram, cooling) for me to get (i want the mobo to have pci-e but i dont really care for sli :)

thnx for all the help

LGA775 has been in use for a while but I think they will stick with it for the next year if not longer.

Don't get the EE965, it's an incredible waste of money. If you want to buy a very high-end chip, get the Core 2 Duo X6800.

well long story, but thats the only chip i can get (dont ask y)
so can some1 guide me in the proper direction for mobo and cooling?

xD

I hope you are getting that EE for cheap... A good mobo for that would be the P5D from ASUS. For cooling, get the latest Zalman or similar cooler for CPU.

ya im gettin it for dirt cheap, but ive never had to buy cooling and dont know much about it, would i need like a heatsink, fan, or liquid cooling?

im not plaining to OC it btw, its going to stay at the 3.73 ghz

How much are you getting it for? If it's more then $400 it's not worth it.

I dont know where your getting it, but most places sell it with a heatsink and fan, but they run extremely hot, so you may want to consider a 3rd party fan or liquid cooling.

ya it is <400

im gettin it from a friend...

well now that every1s curiousity has been quenched...can any one give me a link to the cooling that i should buy, like a specific product they have had good experience with or have heard good things about
