ok, I want to now how good a video card, or any specific type of video card needed to use a hdtv as the main monitor of my computer its a 27 inch flat panel insignia

yea but to play intencse graphic video games would you need a high quility video card, or is t diffferent or sumthing?

To play intense video games, it has nothing to do with the TV, only with the video card. What are the specs of your computer?

To answer your question, yes, but the video card is not the only factor.

Mother Board and Processor-
Intel D945GPMLKR Intel Socket 775 MicroATX Motherboard with...
Intel Pentium D 840 3.20GHz OEM Processor

Memory -
PQI Turbo 1024MB Dual Channel PC5400 DDR2 667MHz Memory (2 x 512MB)

Hard Drive
Hitachi 160GB SATA-300 Hard Drive

Video Card?
I don't know yet, what do you think I should get for really good qutlity performance, but not to expensive, and keep in mind for direct tv

What does not too expensive mean? I would like a specific budget.

And you want to watch TV on your computer? If so, that has nothing to do with the video card.

ok, but i can find 512 mb cards for the same price, what should you look for when buying a gamining card?

ok thanks but do you guys think the computer set up i have is good enough to play top notch video games at max settings, give suggestions.

depends on your video card you get

your processor looks ok and you RAM might be a little weak so dont expect anything superb on ultra settings with AA up all the way

how can I improve my ram, get like 2 gigs? or get a higher mghz ram like 1024 cause mines onl 677, but to do that i'l have to get a new mother board mine only suppors 533 or watever and 677

well i would say do both. get some nice CORSAIR XMS2 DDR2 800 or 1066 RAM

you could get the DDR2 800 C4 or C5 modules and then overclock them to 1066 speeds

if im not mistaken dont PD already compatible with DDR2, as with all of the Socket 775 boards. i would just say that your mobo is fine for now

Memory Expansion
The D945GPMLKR provides 4 DIMM sockets using Dual Channel 240-pin DDR2 with a total capacity of up to 4GB. You can install DDR2 533/667MHz Memory.

so i dont think i can do that without replaing the motherboard.

Heres all the specs though:
