Ctrl+Alt+Delete

What computer are you doing this on? Some business and school computers dont allow it, since they know you can tamper with monitoring programs that way.

Sometimes when a program gets stuck and you press the ctrl-alt-delete keys the window for ending processes won't appear at all despite repeat attempts like you have seen there. The alternate method is to right click on the same task bar that the Start button is found on. You then choose the task manager option there.

when a virus that make my PC runs slowly and could not run was found by my virus software, and i delete it.

and this is not on a new keyboard too.
is there any method could make CRTL+ ALT+DEL to appear and use ?

who can help me ?

thanks

If you right click on the task bar where the Start button is found depending it is set to autohide where you have to run the mouse pointer over it to make it visible you click on the task manager to bring that up. On that you can end one specific program that has locked or go to the top and bring down the shutdown/restart/logoff menu there. The pressing of the "CTRL-ALT-DEL" combination of keys brings up the same screen.

Without the key combination available that would be the alternative method. After confirmation of a virus's total removal and finding that the key combo doesn't work would suggest system files were corrupted or deleted in the process. As long as you have a Windows installation cd for that version you can use the System File Checker to repair/replace any files found damaged or missing. Simply type "sfc /scannow" at the Run prompt and press enter or return.

Try running this script file first

Also, try unplugging your keyboard and plugging it back in, preferably after trying another keyboard.

Go into the registry. Look for this key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System

Make sure DisableTaskMgr is set to zero.

Then report back and we can go from there.

gee..mayb u juz accidentally disable Windows Task Manager.
here is some ways for u to check whether Task Manager is disable..
log in as Admin
* Click Start
* Click Run
* Enter gpedit.msc in the Open box and click OK
* In the Group Policy settings window
o Select User Configuration
o Select Administrative Templates
o Select System
o Select Ctrl+Alt+Delete options
o Select Remove Task Manager
o Double-click the Remove Task Manager option

since the policy is Remove Task Manager, by disabling the policy, you are enabling the Task Manager.

hopefully it works..
