Linux XP login?

I just installed Linux XP Desktop (don't ask why) and I can't log in. I don't remember ever creating a user name. Does anybody know what the default would be? I do know a password, but I don't know if it is the right one.

Any help?

For the user name, try root, and leave the password blank. Can you get to the terminal at all btw?

Using root with not password does nothing

I am a total linux noob
It goes from the loading screen to a blue screen for a second with an input line, something about localhost login, or something

Then before it went to the login box....but now it skipped that and went straight to the desktop

Ok, go to the terminal and type in "useradd" and create a username.
