can i do this with media center

ok hello
if i get the OS of windows xp media center editon for my customized dell laptop can i do all the features i think it can do?
like hook it up to my tv and download the shows to my laptop and watch em on the go?
 
You need a TV Tuner to hook up your cable, satellite, or antenna input. Once you get one of those, you can record videos and then watch them later.

You dont need MCE in order to do this, since most or all TV Tuners come with their own recording and DVR software.

MCE is better then Home, and if you need to buy a version of XP, I would go with MCE. I was saying that just to let you know that if you already have XP, you don't need to spend another $100 for a new OS when you can just use third party software.
 
yeah but the laptop iam gettin MCE is included in the price so iam not payin extra for an os and win xp pro is an extra 200 so....yeah
