Need advice for the coming months :p

Asus boards go well with Corsair, Kingston, Crucial, and a few others like Mushkin. If you are planning on a budget gaming system you can save quite bit by selecting hardwares based on raw performance rather then OCing capability. You may want to consider putting a system together that can be expanded on later.

After researching for a week with a $600 budget I came to the conclusion that upgrading right now is a bad idea as I will be quickly outdated with in 6 months or so. I will be waiting for the "Golden Moment" to upgrade my PC and right now seems like a horrible time to do so. Plus dropping $600 to go to a 2007 "Budget system" is silly. Thanks for the help though guys, all be sticking around.

Well don't feel bad there. I had to rush a fast build here recently to replace a failing older build unexpectedly. That was a setback for a planned 2007 build seen when that happened. Just make sure that the new build leaves room for later expansion when the prices come down. That works better! :P

Just to let you know, there is NO Golden Moment. New technology keeps on coming out faster and faster!

Tell me about it. I can easily place a 20+ year old notebook here in a museum. That is why the best advice when building is leaving room for upgrade or face an outdated system fast. It's moving too fast for operating systems as well.
