Why all PC now have this ATX powersupply if you turn them off you still need to unplug them on the electirical outlet bec your monitor still have power as well you board, when way back we have this XT powersupply when you turn off everything is realy off.:)
well there are some good things for ATX.

erm.. well.. there is still power on the board, because else the CMOS battery would be depleted in no-time. as for the monitor.. most monitors arn't even connected to the PSU of a pc anymore at all ;)

When i mean no power on board i mean unpluged.
I like it better if the monitor is connected to the powersupply like old PC's

Nope, i dont feel the desire to have my cmos battere depleted :)

why would you like to do that in the first place?

yes... if the motherboard is on standby, and not fully disconnected.
my dad's pc depleted the battery after 1 year ( surey,.. still a long time, but i dont want to bother me with having to buy a new battery for it)

but.. why would you want to completely disconnect it anyway?

Why not just switch the PSU off with the switch? :)

The monitor plug into PSU was a good idea, since you only need 1 outlet for the entire computer, instead of 2 as of now. My grandpa still has one like that in China.

If you typed with some spelling and grammer, it would be easier to understand what you are asking.

That's kind of rude. The posts are understandable and the poster probably not a native english speaker. (the first two w's in www. do stand for world-wide after all)

And Americans wonder why most of the world hates us...

well if u cant understand it then dont post ok.
Lol ya don't worry about him. :D

I think a lot of the reason that everything went to atx is the fact that everything is standardized now, so you don't have to worry if one thing will work or not. As for the monitor thing, it allows monitors to be used more versatiley and it just takes another strain off of your psu, which they get worked hard with all the high power consumption components.
