Need help choosing laptop.....

Hi,
I need some help choosing a laptop. I want to buy a cheap one off eBay for around 300-350 $$$Can anyone find some good ones?

Need:
CD/DVD Burner
Wireless Card
InBuilt mouse

Ugh. I wouldn't touch one off Ebay if I was you. That's a good way to throw your hard earned money away. Grab your local buy and sell paper and see if you can find one in there. That way you can physically molest it before you buy it, making sure everything functions properly and does what you need it to.

Yeah good point I was thinking of someone local so that I could check it/test it off eBay...

Thanks for the input. Would Trading Post be the best place to look?

DO NOT buy an Acer, they just suck, and the support is terrible.

I have an Acer and the support has been excellent. I don't know what your problem is. The battery wasn't giving me the life that I thought it should, so they sent me a new one by courier the next day. Now I have two.

I'm quite happy with mine. Does everything I need it to.

Yeah, the only complaint i have heard with acer is, like you said, the battery. I bought a 17" widescreen Acer aspire 1800, 2.9 mhz, super dumper computer. So everything shoudl be fine ok? Well, no, after 4 months the motherboard crashed and the screen wouldnt turn on (the computer never left my office). Ok, I have a 1 year warranty, well it didnt worked....I had to pay $800 for a new motherbard which would only have guarantee for 1 month!!! Of course I took it to an engineer who made for me a new chip for "just" $250. I can manage the brightness of the screen anymore, but it works fine

A friend of mine bought an Acer 2 month ago...same problem...wow, this PC are just great!!
