7950GT vs X1900XT 256mb

I just bought that card but they 512 versions, it is incredible, it is enormous, I have a very roomy mid tower case and when I first saw I was alittle concerned! lol...

I am sure the 256mb one is equally as poweful just less memory.

$200-$300 range maybe $350. I'm thinking the 256mb version of the 1900xt is the best value out there right now for $235. For $100 more it doesn't really seem like it's worth the extra 256mb of Ram.

get ATI. since the benchmarks are very similar, i highly suggest ATI's x1900xt because its a damn good card, and it supports more features like AVIVO video converter and simultaneous full screen anti-aliasing with high dynamic range. (FSAA + HDR)

I have an ATI X1900XT 512 card and it's awesome. I also looked at the 256mb card. It's $240 on newegg while my card has gone up to $319. I'd def get the 256mb version. It's also faster than the 7950 in a lot of things.
:D

get the 512!!! you can't even play games like black & white 2 on med-high settings without 512mb of video memory. i play it on low and i only have around 2-35mb's of space at any given time.

But when you overclock the xt and xtx to max. The XTX will own the XT

The XTX is only clocked 25Mhz faster for the core, and 50Mhz (100Mhz DDR) for the memory, which hardly makes a difference. When there both overclocked to the max, generally speaking they will both overclock about the same.
