Hello! I just bought a new Dell XPS 410. Even if you hate Dell, can you tell me if I did good and got a decent system, or if I overspent?
Here's what I got:
(note: I copied and pasted some stuff from the Help and Support Center
on my PC so the details would be there....)
Intel Core 2 Duo E6700 (Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU 6700 @ 2.66GHz)
Intel 2 Duo Processor E6700 (2.66GHz,1066FSB) with 4MB cache
4 MB Ram (4096 MB) 4GB DDR2 SDRAM at 667MHz , 4 DIMMs
NVidia GE Force 7900 GS, 256mb
24" UltraSharp Widescreen Flat Panel Monitor
24 inch UltraSharp™ 2407FPW Widescreen Digital Flat Panel
Sound Blaster® X-Fi™ XtremeMusic (D), w/Dolby® Digital 5.1
Serial ATA 2 RAID 0 With Dual 320GB Hard Drives
640GB Performance RAID 0 (2 x 320GB SATA 3Gb/s 7200 RPM HDDs)
48X Combo and 16X DVD+/-RW
Dual Drives: 48x Combo + 16x DVD+/-RW w/ dbl layer write capable
LOGITECH Z-5450 Digital 5.1 Speaker with Wireless Rear Speakers
Single TV Tuner with Remote Control
13 in 1 Media Card Reader and 3.5 in Floppy Drive
Genuine Windows® XP Media Center 2005 Edition with re-installation CD
The final cost was $3,773.
A few days after I got the computer, I peeked on Dell's website and saw they started offering 2 new graphics cards for the XPS 410 that they didn't offer when I bought my system. Since I had $4,000 in credit to use to get no interest for 18 months, I could have gotten one of them - I was kinda dissappointed.
These are the 2 new cards they offer now - is it worth going to the store and buying one and upgrading my system myself? Or is the one I have OK?
(So far everything is working great....but just wondering)
1GB NVIDIA GeForce 7950 GX2 Dual-GPU Graphics Card
512MB nVidia GeForce 7900 GTX
Anyway, any opinions would be great. Or advice. You can email me directly or post here. Thanks a lot for your input.
