Serious Firefox security flaw

Huh...I never liked Javascript anyways :P lol

I like how they made it sound so bad in the beginning, then said there currently aren't any known exploits for this particular security issue, then end it by saying Firefox usually has patches out quicker than Microsoft. They must be very pro Firefox over at vnunet.com

I among many others find 1.5.0.7 somewhat unstable under heavy use, never had a problem with earlier versions though. I hope they sort that out in a future release.

Tweaker, that release has been known to cause many problems on many machines, so much so that it led me to believe that it was nothing but a piece of crap. However, is there not a "service pack" for it?

They don't do service packs, they do updates as they go. I think that this falls under the same category as the wifi driver hack on apple laptops....

There is a known exploit but no one can use it to their advantage yet???? It's propaganda probably for the new release of IE 7, or whatever.

No, it's not propaganda for IE7  If you notice, it was not presented in any context with IE, and the discoverers of the flaw, at least one of them, is working with Mozilla to see what the extent of the flaw is, as well as seeing if there is a way to fix it.

More than likly. It always comes to slashing other comapanies reputaions. I dont see there being a problem if noone can access it yet. And i trust that it would be patched fairly soon. I still feel firefox is the safer of ther option between ie and firefox.

It just reminds me of that driver exploit. Lots of hype, lots of this and that, but no solid proof of it even working. They also were working with companies to fix this so called exploit. A few vendors (MS and Apple) released a few updates that had some updates that could may have covered this 'so called exploit' but nothing was ever proved either way.

So, it does sound like proganda to me.

I could be wrong.

I didn't read the exploit issue, But I will still stay with Firefox. I only go to my KNOWN safe sites, so I am not worried.
