Memory cooling Kit

Any decently new memory today comes standard with heatspreaders. I wouldn't waste your money on them unless you over volted them quite a bit. Memory on stock doesnt run that hot, as long as you have decent case cooling.

And no, you really won't see a performance increase.

Don't waste your money on them unless you have the Corsair Dominator modules. Memory usually doesn't get to hot.

do you know what you just said

the dominator already come with a patented cooling system

yes, I do. I was reffering to the fact that the Corsair Dominator cooling system probably will be released as a separate cooler. I guess I didn't phrase my statement well.

If your case temps are "normal" and you're not overvolting your RAM there's no real reason to get heatspreaders. I mean they look sexy (usually) so I always liked OCZ's spreaders, but if I had to pay extra for them I wouldn't go for it.

I've seen them become useful when overclocking, allowing ~5-10MHz more when actively cooled. Other that extreme overclocking, it's all show.

Okay guys,

I wont bother getting them then.

I just wasnt sure if memory actualy got that hot and the Memory cooling Kits are so cheap so....:D

My case temps are usualy around 31 - 35c so would you consider this ok for my system?

As long as your CPU temp is below 50C, and your chipset is below 60C, you're pretty good.

Obviously, the lower your temperatures are, the better stability you'll have, and the longer your parts will last.

only kind i see worth getting is this:

THE sexiest RAM sinks EVER!!!

Those are OCZ, or at least the same ones they use on there GZ kits.

As I said, they make the best looking spreaders :P
