cpu pins bent... still work??

k i bought a computer case of my friend for like 20 bucks which inclucled all parts inside(it's broken and he doesn't want to bother fixing it),he told me he played around with his comp then it suddenly stopped working. i found out the the processore wasn't totally set in, and 6-10 pin were bent, so i bent them all back(not an easy thing to do i found out lol), when i try to start the computer, all the fans power up and everything, but nothing shows up on the screen, would it be the motherboard that screwed up or the psu is junk.
computer specs
Intel Pentium 4 3.0E Prescott 3.0GHz 1MB L2 Cache Socket 478
mobo p4p800
 
I just used a certain size flat head screw driver and put it in between the pins diagonally and there you go! How does a CPU get bent pins when it is already in a socket anyway???

It wasnt in all the way, as he said above.

I had a similar problem recently..... I used a toothpick to bend them back.... I didn't know if metal on metal was such a good idea..... For the last step i let the socket straighten the pins the rest of the way....

Easiest way I've found to bend pins back(at least with older processors) is using a lead pencil. Push the lead back up into the hole and use the tip to bend the pins. Worked great for old Socket7's ;)
 
lol the issue is not bending the pins, it's the fact that when i turn on my comp i dont see anything lol, as long as all the pins go in the sockets it's fine right, dont need to perfectly straight?
 
Did you think that maybe the video adapter isnt working? That would explain why it powers up but nothing is displayed on the screen.

Do you have another video adapter you could try?
