I believe I heard about that particular card on one of the tech podcast I watch regularly(DL.TV I think). The memory is a tad overkill in my opinion.

This is a bit off topic, but honestly I think spending $3,300 for that system was a complete waste, since in a couple months they will have DX10 and quad-cores out...

But thats just me

But look at how long he'll be able to go without upgrading. As said, implementation of DX10 will take time. No reason to downplay his investment.
