BF 2142 demo

i'm just after playing the demo and destroying the enemy titan

This game is really fun once you get used to it. I was playing earlier and I somehow charged into an enemy silo area and managed to kill 4 people. Anyone else notice how much fun it is to use a launch pod to get yourself up to the enemy titan? Those things are really fun to ride.

Apparently your not the only one with this issue. The fix would be to download it from another source (and perhaps cross your fingers). With a demo that large it's a pain to download for many the first time around.
I downloaded it.. and managed to play it... However, it say's "connection with server lost" on about 99% of the servers in my list.
anyone has any idea what might be causeing this?
Again, Your not the first with this issue either. Keeping in mind that it's a Demo and bound to have bugs. Wish I could offer more but I've got nothing. It is very possibly server side anyway and not your PC or ISP.

I was really happy with my performance. I didn't think I'd be able to run it as well as I do.

I got it installed and I still can't play. As soon as I entire the game, it closes and says: Windows has encountered a problem. It is so annoying.

I could log to some servers by now.. yet i get disconnected after a short time playing (longest playes shreak is 10minutes.. ) flying those plane like thingy's is really easy,. and walking in a mech makes me seasick after a wile.. I like the game already tough.. but i hope the full version doesnt kick me from the servers all the time,.. because its really getting old

Well my experience is as follows... The demo installed just fine, I launched a private server with password so that I could play around without actually having to have much knowledge of what to do

While changing between menus and sometimes during game play the darn thing minimizes to the task bar, at which time I maximize it again where it runs again fine, this is frigging annoying but does not happen often during actual game play. So anyway the game runs smooth as pie (loads a bit slow though) which I'm surprised because video that I've seen so far looked so good and I'm playing on an ageing 6800 GT.
In my opinion the game looks great but I think I enjoyed Battlefield 2 better. I wont come to a full fledged conclusion until I actually play this game to its fullest. I just feel that Battlefield 2 at this moment captured my interest a bit more.

You did not make yourself clear but I'll do my best to clarify my point. Assuming you are asking "Can't really see how that is possible..." because I said "In my opinion the game looks great but I think I enjoyed Battlefield 2 better." or maybe it was because of my comment "I just feel that Battlefield 2 at this moment captured my interest a bit more."? If so then allow me to try and explain it to you.
You see we are all different and diverse, therefore we often feel differently toward something then others. Sometimes we cannot explain it... It's simply a feeling. I find that the game is not capturing me like Battlefield 2. This might be because battlefield 2 is based on a more down to earth, present war experience. Battlefield 2142 is a science fiction style game play.

but you must also realize that game is very different then Battlefield 2. It is science fiction with flying titans and much more (futuristic sci-fi vehicles etc.) The two games have a very different feel because of this very large difference.
As I said though... I'm holding final judgement until I spend some quality time with the game. It is simply my personal opinion and nothing more.

on this point i must agree... they run on the same engine.. but because of the complete different looks of weapons and vehicles.. the gameplay is completely different imo

Finally i got it running for once i got home yesterday 11:30PM.. putted on my pc, and had a look if it would work this time... i just played 3 full conquest battles,.. and its truly different from BF2,.
altough, i dont really like it when you're in a vehicle, you literairy can get 1 shotted, wich kinda gets old if it happens too much.. but i gues for that you need to play together with others.. not FFA ( and i yet have to find servers for BF2 where people actually play together
)
But.. awesome gameplay,. i think ill buy it when its released. ( and thats saying something..
)

I have only managed to get into my enemy Titan's ship once, and that was a crash landing with an aircraft...
