Cleaning Mouse?

I've noticed it before but the dirt on my mouse is getting to me. I don't know how I get dirt on it, I mean my hands are washed alot, yet dirt and grime still gets on it. The mouse I have is a Logitech Mx 518, its a great mouse and fits my hand perfectly. But I am wondering how to clean it, if possible. Hopefully a nice and through cleaning. Any thoughts?

I'm kind of hard on mice here. I use either a soft cloth with a mild cleaner or even a paper towel at times on the MS optical mouse. A good old handkerchief here to wipe the trackball itself down to remove finger marks. Don't forget your hands perspire and carry skin oils which can easily collect dirt and debris. If you snack around a pc it doesn't take much.

Just have something to wipe it off. From the looks of it, it sounds like you use your pc a lot, so it's not like it's an unnatural thing.

Yeah, and your hand naturally have oil and bacteria on them, otherwise you wouldn't survive :). You just have to take some gentle wipes on the mouse and clean it off every now and then...

Surprisingly baby wipes are damp and non abrasive. The first thing to do is to simply wipe any dust off with something dry. After that the antiseptics found in baby wipes will take care of quite a bit. Depending on the type and style of mouse or trackball used Q-Tips can get into the tight space under the buttons.
