Will this hard drive work with my comp?

yes,.. it should work, Its an SATA300 HD tough, and the motherboard is SATA, so the harddisk could run faster.. nevertheless it should run great :)

the hdd you have bought is sata 2 and your mobo supports sata 1 they are backward compatable but if you have problems seeing the hdd in bios you will have to move the jumper on the back of the hdd to sata 1

Thanks for the replies.

Awesome I'm glad I don't have to exchange it. I am however going to get a little more noob on you. :D

I'm still having trouble figuring out how to plug it into my comp. I have a power terminal cord (terminology?) set aside for it but this HD does not have the same ribbon plug in slot as my current drive.

One of the main points of SATA is the new connection. it is much smaller, and will plug into the SATA ports on your motherboard. I hope you have a cable handy.

I wasn't sure which "left" you meant so I tried both and neither worked. My computer does not recognize the new drive.

Any ideas?
