Laptop Resolution Question

A lot of you have probably seen my two threads asking some questions about the HP dv9000t laptop I"m interested in getting. It has a 2.0 GHz Core 2 Duo, 2 GB of RAM, 512 MB of Video Memory, and a 7,200 RPM hard drive. However, I have a question this time regarding the resolution.

17.0" WXGA+ BrightView Widescreen (1440x900)
17.0" WSXGA+ BrightView Widescreen (1680x1050)
17.0" WXGA+ Ultra BrightView Widescreen (1440x900)

These are my three options from least to most expensive. I'm trying to decide between the second and third options. Would it be better to go for the higher resolution or this Ultra BrightView thing? I'm not getting this laptop for a huge "multimedia experience" but mainly just a very good, fast, desktop replacment, that can play games at a high quality.

Which of these do you think I should go with?
 
Personally i'd choose the 2nd option as it has a better resolution. The 3rd option would be good if you were traveling with it as it would prob be alot easier to see the screen under all sorts of lighting conditions.

Are there any shops nearby that you can check them out in person?
 
Nope, I don't know of any places where I could find this specific laptop. I was thinking of maybe going for the higher resolution as well since I don't really need an ultra bright view...

Also one more question: Do video games factor into the resolution or do they autmatically switch to their own?
 
My 19in widescreen is a 1440X900, it is perfect at 19in, 1680X1050 at 17in would be a little small... i would get either of the 1440X900, whichever is cheaper or you want.
 
Okay thanks for the feedback. I don't want to get anything to small, however in CNET's review, they said the 1440 X 900 could be a little finer so thats why I'm wondering which to get.

Games usually have a default resolution but you can adjust it higher or lower based on what your computer can handle. Running a higher resolution in game will require a faster computer in most cases. It's always best to have something that will go higher than you can run that way you aren't capped, like for example, my flat panels i use for my desktop do 1024X768 max, but my computer is fast enough to handle a higher resolution in most of the games i have but i can't go any higher because i'm limited by my monitors. Anyway i'd go with option 2.
 
Well it's a bit to late for more feedback... I ordered the computer last night. Decided to get option 2 last night.

Is the computer in my sig fast enough to play games nicely at a high resolution?
 
Yer, I went with the 1680 x 1050 res on my laptop.
Ot's great for surfing the net, typing and stuff like that but playing games does push it. But then again it is a laptop lol.
