This will STOMP that build. It's dual core, DDR2, and just all around better. It IS over $700 even with the MIR but we're talking $730 SHIPPED. So that's not bad for a MUCH better build. I'd personally get a better video card if you're not going to get a DX10 card sometime in the next 6-9. But that system will play any game on at least med settings @ 1280x1024. Maybe higher settings. Hope my suggestion helps! :D

no optical drive? that puts you at $765 :P

Hmmm-
Point taken. Newegg does have better prices after all. I went to Newegg and made a few refinements. Saved some $$ on the MB by not getting SLI, and found an ATI combo.

How does the ATI X1650 Pro compare to that GEforce 7600 GT?

Knocked the price down quite a bit, and I think I now have a more solid case/power supply. The mushkin ram might be a little more stable also. Whaddya think?

Beat this build and this price. Don't come "close" to beating it, or go a "little" over budget.

Wups I did forget the optical drive. I concur with changing the HD size and getting the X1900GT. Or the X1950 Pro if you can find one. Asus is selling it on Newegg.com for $169 but is Auto Notify ATM.:D
