Also is it better to get a good video card etc 512MB NVIDIA(R) GeForce(R) Go 7600 or more RAM? Which one do you think it would be better in the long run (4-5 years)?

Thanks

Before I give you my suggestion, do you prefer to have a light laptop or a bit of a heavy one because the bigger the screen, the more heaver it is going to be.

im not going to be lugging it around to class everyday.... :D
i might just take it to the library from time to time, but most of the time it will be stuck in my room..

Might I suggest that you look at a Acer? There is a bunch of labtop for the money... I use one everyday at my job and school... I haven't had one problem with it... But I can only give you a suggestion on the Acer because I haven't had to buy any others.... Good luck with which ever you buy!

I have a dell 6400 which is business class for the e1505, i love it, it runs awesome and is well under spec'd compare to what put...my mom dad sister and aunt all have dell lappys and are working great. I would say go with the last lappy u specd up...

Yeah thanks I think I got it narrowed down to Dell E1505 or HP Dv6000t
I been reading mixed reviews on both laptops and can't decide which I should get
Dell: they said all the adware stuff Dell sticks in there and the customer service
HP: battery life and screen adn their quality

My uncle is having this Dell Inspiron E1505
and he has been singing praises of it ever since. It looks more promising and better suited for how you plan to use it. I used uncle's laptop few times and its really cool! And the price also is reasonable... I think.

I'd say the HP because the graphics card on the Dell feeds off the system memory. However, I'm not 100% sure if the 7400 is independent, but since it doesn't have TurboCache or HyperMemory, it probably is. Otherwise, they're pretty much the same so the HP gets my vote.
Also, you get the microphone and webcam which would be good for something like skype if you wanted to phone someone online.
