this is a question a Word problem

I have created a Word document
and as I was reviewing it, I clicked on "Enter" button

now every line has a Paragraph symbol at the beginning and end of each line
and a dot between every word
and a line of dots along every blank line, or along the entire blank space of any line

now all my other documents are the same way
oh no

how do I get things back to normal (with none of these dots and not Paragraph symbol)?

Thanks if anyone can help, or refer me on

Look for a symbol in one of the toolbars at the top which looks like this:

Click it. It should work.

- the Paragraph symbol (like the one above) appears at the beginning and end of every line (plus all those dots in every white space)

- I can find the symbol in the Insert button, then I click on Symbol, which presents a grey box with that symbol located in recently used symbols

- but I can't figure out how to get rid of it in all of my documents where it now appears

- I tried to start a new Word document on a blank screen, and that symbol appears right away

Do you know how to fix what has happened in the entire Word system?
thanks again

That image thealmightyone put up is an icon in word. Look in the tool bar and you see the Icon of--- \/ that symbol.

Just click it and those scarey symbols will all disappear.

okay - I'm going to try again
we are going to succeed at this!
I hope - because it's hard to read the document!
