Looking to buy a new laptop now.

So I've decided that I'd just buy a new laptop. Question is: What is the the best laptop to get right now?

Right now I'm looking at the Inspiron E1405 Dual Core. I've opted to get the Intel® Core™ 2 Duo processor T7400 (4MB Cache/2.16GHz/667MHz FSB) processor which is $350 more dollars onto the base price of $899. The base CPU is the Intel® Core™ Proc Duo T2300E (1.66GHz/667MHz/2 X 1MB L2 Cache).

Do you think it's worth it to do this?

The GPU is an Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator 950 which is included in the price. Is this bad?

I also upgraded to 2G of ram.

The Total is $1,434. Is this worth it? Or should I try something else? Thanks guys.

I won't do any gaming at all. But I will be using other programs like dreamweaver 9 and Photoshop CS2. I'll be watching movies and listening to muzik.

My question is, is this a nice laptop? Is it worth the money?

you might want to find a laptop with a dedicated video card (i believe the Inspiron E1505 does)... even for Dreamweaver and CS2 you may want one... other than that, it looks like a solid buy... by the way, if you are going to buy it, google "Dell Inspiron Coupons", you may find one that knocks up to $500 off the price...

I'm trying to use the coupons I've found here at http://www.notebookreview.com/dellCoupon.asp

but I'm running into some problems. It seems to not want to put the coupons into affect. Would anyone like to volunteer setting up a Dell Inspiron E1405 for me and using the coupons on that website? What is the lowest price you can get with what features? I would REALLY REALLY appreciate this. THANK YOU!!

EDIT:

basically... I'm trying to put together a laptop for under 1K if its possible using coupons.

THANKS

if you can wait... i will help you out tomorrow... i'm heading off to bed now...

ok... the coupon you are trying to use... first off, does it meet the criteria, like if the notebook is over $999... are you using the coupon that works for that... i mean don't try to use the $300 off on $1500 laptops coupon if yours only costs $1000... try that and if it doesn't work come back...

Yes, it doesn't work. I used the right ones for my criteria. Do you mind building one in the right criteria for me and applying the coupon to see if it works?

well i can... but i really don't know how that will work... i don't know if i can really send you a link to it... but i can try it to make sure that it's at least doable...

EDIT: i looked on dell.com and they don't offer a 2.16 Ghz processor for the E1405 or the E1505... only the E1705 offers the T7400... is that the one you want???

WOW... how funny is that? After one day... the prices and the specs have changed. Yesterday, I could have purchased an E1405 for a base price of $899. Now the same computer is $1200.

well i thought something was going on... anyways, should i try it with the E1705? that's the only one with the 2.16 Ghz option for the processor... or do you not want it anymore?

I think I'm going to pass. It really pisses me off how I wait one day and now I have to pay $300 more. Not worth it. Thanks for the help though.
